Our Aims at Kewsound are to make music of all forms and all uses affordable to the public. Thus prices stated are our Maxiumum costs.
For example, we will try to make it easier for solo artists and duets etc, or schools and charities, church choirs, but bear in mind we have busy times,
and slack times.
Kewsound Basic Prices
**Note that the rooms are available 15 minutes before the booked time slot, and bands can play for e.g. a full 4 hours (if 4 hours is what they booked)
and then 15-20 minutes is allowed after for packing away their gear. So a 4 hour booking and cost for 4 hours gives 4 hours rehearsal time, something many rehearsal studios do not! (if you do turn up early to get set up!!)**
Studio hire:
Evenings: £8 per room, per hour for 3 hours or longer, otherwise £10 per hour (due to overheads). 2 studios available*.
Daytimes (before 5pm): £6 per hour
Equipment hire, £2 per major item, per hour (see notes below)
DRUMS: Bring your own drum sticks and cymbals!! - Otherwise cymbals an extra £3/hr
(This is due to the high cost of cymbals and the potential for breakages)
Recording rates:
We try to tailor actual rates to requirements and band size, as sometimes 3 or 4 days in a row, all day, may be booked, in which case our rates may be lower.
Call with your needs (07545 950 720) and we can negotiate a price that hopefully will fit your needs and allow us to pay our staff still!
*Notes on basic prices. If you are borrowing one piece of (major) equipment,
the maxiumum prices will apply. If you borrow 5 pieces though, we will try and work to make it more affordable. If in doubt
(and I'm sure such a wooly statement above will cause doubt!) Just give us a call and we have a chat. We're very friendly!
NOTE that use of the PA systems, microphones, leads, microphone and guitar stands and items like these are all
catered for in the cost of the studio hire and do NOT count as equipment hire. In other words, hire the studio and they come free.

Other costs that may arise
Well, you know, life is never perfect and guitar strings do break, as do drum sticks and all kinds of things
you'd be expected to bring yourself.
So we keep a small stock of these but do charge at the price that we paid for them.
Items you would normally be expected to bring yourself:
Your musical instruments (but we do have a full drum kit that can be hired, and a few guitars)
Effects pedals
Guitar leads, effects pedal leads
Power cords to your own amplifiers See the equipment page for equipment we DO hire.
We do have a stock of such items, but please do not rely on them being available!
